Alright...some of you already know but just in case you don't...

I'M PREGNANT!

We told both of the families by baking cakes (don't mind my unprofessional cake decorating). For my family we thought it would be fun to make a cake in the shape of a pregnancy test. However, I had no idea that my mom had never seen one before! She said they never used to take them they just knew that they were pregnant. Weird. Anyway, my sister-in-law and brothers all knew what it was immediately, my mom got that I was pregnant but thought it was a baby bottle, and my dad thought it was a guitar, he was a little off :)

The cake idea started because Doug's family has a lot of March birthdays. Doug's dad's is the 8th, his sister is the 23rd, and Doug's is the 25th so we thought it would be fun to say "Happy Birthday Grandpa" but Doug's family is pretty sarcastic so we thought maybe they would think we were making fun of Doug's dad for being old so instead we spelled it out. But the effect was the same and everyone was excited.

I am 11 weeks along and have actually been really sick. I'm ready to be done with the first trimester and really hope (keep your fingers crossed) that I will feel better right after or soon after week 12! Doug has been really great and I'm so grateful to have such a wonderful husband who can put up with my laziness. I get home from work and just can't get motivated to do anything so he has been really great. Besides being sick (which I guess comes with the territory) we really are excited for this next huge step in our lives and I will keep the blog updated, hopefully more consistently if I get feeling better soon :)
